{"id":263,"date":"2014-11-28T17:01:54","date_gmt":"2014-11-28T17:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cpectrade.co.uk\/?p=263"},"modified":"2014-11-28T17:01:54","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T17:01:54","slug":"elizabeth-the-bumble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cpectrade.co.uk\/?p=263","title":{"rendered":"Elizabeth The Bumble"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Elizabeth The Bumble Bee<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth the bumble bee<br \/>\nLives in the hollow of an old oak tree.<br \/>\nShe buzzes around from dawn until dusk<br \/>\nCollecting the pollen for her own secret store <\/p>\n<p>Her honey pots lay on top of a shelf<br \/>\nThat she was clever enough to build for herself<br \/>\nFrom wood she collected from old potting sheds<br \/>\nAnd fixed to the wall with tiny clothes pegs <\/p>\n<p>Her front door is made of twigs from birch trees<br \/>\nThe windows are covered in curtains of green<br \/>\nMade from the leaves of hawthorn and ash<br \/>\nFrom hedgerows she visits, just in a flash <\/p>\n<p>The floor of her house is clean and well kept<br \/>\nA tiny red broom with which it is swept<br \/>\nLeans to the right of the little front door<br \/>\nBehind creaking hinges, an oil lamp and more <\/p>\n<p>A three legged stool dainty and bright<br \/>\nSits beside the fireside<br \/>\nWhere Elizabeth sits in evening&#8217;s dark<br \/>\nBy the light of a candle especially made<br \/>\nFrom beeswax and honey she secretly saves <\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth sleeps through the dark of the night<br \/>\nAnd upon the coming of the morning light<br \/>\nShe opens her window and stretches her arms<br \/>\nStamping her feet to keep them warm <\/p>\n<p>Her bright stripey jumpers and boots of pot black<br \/>\nAre given a shine of polish so that<br \/>\nThey glow in the sunlight and dark evening clouds<br \/>\nAnd are easy to find when her feet touch the ground <\/p>\n<p>Her wings are dusted every day<br \/>\nAnd her pillows are plumped<br \/>\nOn her bed of sweet hay<br \/>\nAs she busily flutters about her home<br \/>\nCounting her honey pots with a gentle hum<\/p>\n<p>She opens the door to the world outside<br \/>\nWings outstretched like a butterfly<br \/>\nShe rises above the golden fields<br \/>\nAnd flies to the distant narrow lanes <\/p>\n<p>Poppies and bluebells grow side by side<br \/>\nAnd foxgloves are tall enough for her to hide<br \/>\nDeep in the pretty pink tubular bell<br \/>\nWhere the sweet smell of pollen fills the dell <\/p>\n<p>Tiny forget-me-nots look out of place<br \/>\nAs she hops around from mid-air to space<br \/>\nCollecting the pollen in tiny gold bags<br \/>\nTo turn into nectar in honey pots glass <\/p>\n<p>The sweet honeycomb she stores in her pantry<br \/>\nAnd when she is sure that she has plenty<br \/>\nThe honey is poured into all of the pots<br \/>\nTo add to the porridge and pancakes she cooks <\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth is a good bumblebee<br \/>\nAlthough a little greedy maybe<br \/>\nFor she stores the honey<br \/>\nIn order to be as bright and healthy as can be <\/p>\n<p>So when you awake on a warm sunny day<br \/>\nAnd you notice a bee on a flower in May<br \/>\nWith a stripey bright jumper and black polished boots<br \/>\nThink of Elizabeth as she gently pours<br \/>\nThe sweet yellow honey into her store <\/p>\n<p>Watch as she hops from garden to tree<br \/>\nAnd back to the petals of sweet Williams new<br \/>\nAnd around again to roses of yellow<br \/>\nBouncing and humming for just me and you <\/p>\n<p>The End <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elizabeth The Bumble Bee Elizabeth the bumble bee Lives in the hollow of an old oak tree.
